Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are clearly finding their chateau in the South of France is a bit out in the sticks. The pair are reportedly making offers on neighbouring properties, with a view to building an airport.

Brad and Angelina, who both have pilot licences, would then be able to fly their brood in and out of the 1,000-acre estate without being seen by paparazzi - or getting stuck in tiresome Côte d’Azur traffic jams. The nearest airport is more than an hour’s drive from Chateau Miraval.

- She calls herself Jenny from the block, but Jennifer Lopez is rumoured to have spent about £600,000 on a three-bedroom condominium in Miami’s financial district (www.iconbrickell.com). The price is thought to be considerably lower than the initial pricetag - good news for the Williams sisters who are also shopping for a bargain in Miami.

- Meanwhile, Madonna has been snaffling bargains in New York. The singer has allegedly bought a house in the Upper East Side. Estate agents scoffed when they heard she’d spent £25m, but the material girl had the last laugh when it emerged that she’d paid a mere £20m.

- With the sixth series of The Apprentice starting filming soon, candidates will move into a mansion in Bedford Square in Bloomsbury, which is currently on the market with Savills for £11.25m. I just hope this year’s intake gets some downtime to enjoy the facilities, including an indoor pool, spa and gym. The house has been on the market for six months – originally for about £15m. I’m sure the owners are pleased to have scored such a high-profile short let; television companies pay up to £2,000 per day, which would net them at least £100,000.
